KARACHI: Former Pakistan captain and legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram showed support for national team pacer Hasan Ali.

The Sultan of swing appealed to fans to leave Hasan alone and not criticise him.

"I have a request. Please leave Hasan alone. He is our player, and if we don't give him confidence, then who will. Even our journalists criticise him," Wasim said in a video posted on social media.

Wasim talked about Hasan's performance for Lancashire County Cricket Club in the County Championship 2022 and said: "Give him a little respect. He performed well for Lancashire, for which people are praising him."

Moreover, the 56-year-old advised the right-arm pacer not to pay attention to the criticism.

"Hasan, don't worry about these guys. We are all behind you, and I think the whole country supports you," Wasim concluded.

It should be noted that in the opening ODI against West Indies on Wednesday, Hasan gave away 68 runs in 10 overs without taking any wicket.
