LAHORE: Pakistan team's head coach Saqlain Mushtaq ensured that his players are totally ready to play in the hot and humid weather of Multan against West Indies in a three-match ODI series.

In a media address here on Saturday, Mushtaq said the weather is not an issue for professional players. "I think professional players don't care about weather conditions. Our players are professional and weather doesn't haunt them at all," he said.

"Our players are preparing hard for the series. We have planned alternatives of recovery during this weather," he added.

Pakistani squad is currently taking part in a training camp here at National High-Performance Centre ahead of the series.

Saqlain aims 3-0 victory against West Indies who returned to their country last year due to the COVID-19 outbreak in their camp.

"In home series, there is no other option to win all the matches. Our target is to win all three matches," he stressed.

Cricketer-turned-coach Saqlain backed Hassan Ali who had a good run in County Championship after poor form before that.

"Hassan is a match-winner. Form is temporary but he has the potential to do well any day," he concluded.
