KARACHI: Liverpool have signed Fulham attacker Fabio Carvalho, who will join the club on July 1.

The 19-year-old scored 10 goals and added eight assists to help the Cottagers gain promotion to the Premier League.

In January, the teams agreed on a price, but the deal fell through on deadline day.

Carvalho agrees to a five-year contract for £5 million-plus £2.7 million in add-ons.

Carvalho was an England junior international before making his Portugal Under-21 debut in March.

He came through Fulham's youth system and was nominated for the EFL Young Player of the Season award, which went to Nottingham Forest's Brennan Johnson.

"Fabio is a great talent, and we did everything we could trying to secure him here on a longer deal so he could play in the Premier League with Fulham," said club owner Tony Khan.

"That didn't prove possible, but we were able to keep him for the remainder of the Championship-winning campaign, and for that, I know he will always be very fondly remembered by our fans."
