MUMBAI: Virat Kohli was at his best as he smashed a 54-ball 73 to help Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) chase a 169-run target in a must-win game against Gujarat Titans (GT) in their last Indian Premier League (IPL) round-robin match at the Wankhede Stadium.

Earlier, GT's captain Hardik Pandya scored an undefeated half-century to help his side post 168 for 5 against RCB after electing to bat first.

Kohli has been out of form recently and couldn't perform well in the IPL, but the right-handed batter was sensational against the Titans.

In pursuit of the 169-run target, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis partnered up with Kohli and scored 44 runs in 38 balls.

After Rashid Khan sent Du Plessis back to the pavilion, Glenn Maxwell took charge, scoring a blistering 18-ball 40 to complete the run chase.

Rashid was the only bowler who bowled well for the Titans as he claimed two wickets.

Earlier, Hardik had scored an undefeated 62 off 47 balls, hitting four boundaries and three sixes.

In addition to Hardik, David Miller (34) and Wriddhiman Saha (31) contributed with the bat.

RCB's standout bowler Josh Hazlewood (2/39) took two wickets, while Maxwell and Wanindu Hasaranga claimed one wicket each.
