LAHORE: Asia Cup 2022 is likely to be shifted to Bangladesh as Sri Lanka is currently facing financial crisis.

According to Indian media, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is considering Bangladesh as an alternative venue to host the Asian event which was last held in 2018 in Dubai.

"Bangladesh is just an option at the moment and the ACC is observing Sri Lanka situation before coming to a final decision. UAE is definitely not an option to host matches in late August and early September,” an official in the know of things told Cricket.com.

Asia Cup 2022 is initially scheduled from August 27 to September 11 in Sri Lanka. India will defend its title in the event.
