Pakistan team leaves for Indonesia to play in Asia Cup 2022

Pakistan will play its first match on May 23 against arch-rivals India

LAHORE: Pakistan team left for Indonesia to participate in Hero Asia Hockey Cup 2022, scheduled to start from May 23. 

According to the details, 20-member national squad departed for Indonesia last night. Team Manager Olympian Khawaja Junaid, Head Coach Siegfried Ekman, Coach Wasim Ahmed, Physical Instructor Daniel Berry, Physiotherapist Adeel Akhtar and Video Analyst Nadeem Lodhi accompanied players. 

Eight participating teams have been divided into two pools. Pool A includes India, Japan, Pakistan and Indonesia whereas pool B includes Malaysia, Korea, Oman and Bangladesh. 

Pakistan will play its first match on May 23 against arch-rivals India followed by second contest against Indonesia on May 24 and against Japan on May 26.

Defenders: Mubashir Ali, Emad Shakeel Butt, Hamad-ud-Din Anjum, Muhammad Abdullah, Rizwan Ali

Attackers: Abu Bakar Mahmood, Ejaz Ahmed, Rana Abdul Waheed, Muhammad Salman Razzaq, Afraz, Roman, Abdul Hanan Shahid
