ISLAMABAD: New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has invited Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for a tri-nation T20I series before T20 World Cup in Australia this year.

According to the sources, PCB has received an official invitation by NZC for a tri-nation T20I series involving New Zealand, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

As of yet, PCB hasn't responded to the invitation. A well placed source told this correspondent that answer to the invitation will be given after reviewing team's schedule.

Pakistan team will be involved in busy schedule before T20 World Cup. They will host West Indies for three ODIs in June, then will travel to Sri Lanka for two Tests and Netherlands for three ODIs.

The Green Shirts will then participate in Asia Cup 2022 in August-September followed by home T20I series against England in September.

However, ESPNcricinfo reported that most likely window for tri-nation T20I series is between late September and early October.
