KARACHI: Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has heaped praise on Nacho Fernandez, saying the defender always makes him think twice while choosing the playing eleven.
Ancelotti talked to the media after Real Madrid's 1-1 draw away at Cadiz on Sunday evening, but the attention was on the Champions League final rather than the draw.
Nacho had another fine game, but Eder Militao did not, thus Ancelotti was questioned whether similar performances from the experienced centre-back would make him reconsider his starting line-up.
"A player like Nacho always makes you think twice when picking the line-up," the Italian coach said in a post-match press conference.
"He's not the only one, as you have doubts over the line-up for every match here at Real Madrid. There is a full squad and not just 11 players."
On being asked if Fede Valverde and Rodrygo Goes will start in the Champions League final against Liverpool Ancelotti said:
"Maybe they'll start, or maybe, they won't, but they will definitely play. Valverde needs to make the most of his long shot, which he has been doing more in recent matches. I think it's good for him and us for him to try shooting more," Ancelotti said.
