BOSTON: The Milwaukee Bucks were ousted from the NBA playoffs after falling to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference semi-finals.

The Celtics won game seven 109-81 at home to go to the Eastern Conference finals against the Miami Heat.

For Boston, Grant Williams had 27 points, including seven three-pointers, and Jayson Tatum had 23.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks in scoring with 25 points.

The two-time former MVP started hot as the Bucks lead 26-20 after one quarter, but then faded as the Celtics pulled away.

Boston made 22 of their 55 three-point tries, while Milwaukee only made four of their 33 attempts.

The Celtics, who have won a combined 17 NBA championships with the Los Angeles Lakers, advance to their fourth conference finals appearance in the last six years, looking for their first crown since 2008.

In the other game-seven matchup on Sunday, the Dallas Mavericks beat the Phoenix Suns 123-90 to go to the Western Conference finals.

Luka Doncic led the way with 35 points and 10 rebounds, while Spencer Dinwiddie and Jalen Brunson chipped in with 30 and 24 points, respectively.

The top-seeded Suns were considered early favourites to win the NBA title in 2022.
