LAHORE: The first phase of the conditioning camp of national cricketers has started at National High Performance Center Lahore.

In the introductory session on the first day of the camp, the coaches gave lectures. Former cricketer Mushtaq Ahmed and NHPC coach Omar Rashid attended the introductory session.

National cricket team batting coach Muhammad Yousuf, bowling coach Shaun Tait and fielding coach Abdul Majeed explained the purpose of the camp to the players.

Pakistan all-format skipper Babar Azam will join the camp on Friday due to overseas engagements while Zahid Mehmood will also join the camp on the same day due to the death of his mother.

Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hasnain, and Mohammad Waseem Jr. did not attend the first session of the camp. All three players will join the camp this evening.

On the second day of the camp, the players will participate in net sessions.

Former cricketer Mushtaq Ahmed and NHPC coach Omar Rashid also attended the introductory session.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to set up conditioning camp in two phases. The first phase will continue till May 25 in which 27 players have been invited.
