Pakistani spinner Zahid Mehmood's mother passes away

KARACHI: Pakistani spinner Zahid Mehmood's mother has passed away.

Taking to Twitter, Zahid announced the demise of his mother and asked to pray for the departed soul.

"Allah! My paradise, my mother has left us. Pray for her soul," the leg-spinner wrote.

After the tragic incident, Pakistan all-format skipper Babar Azam took to Twitter to extend his heartfelt condolences to Zahid and his family.

"My heart & prayers goes out to Zahid Mehmood on the sad demise of his beloved mother. There is no loss bigger than the loss of a parent," Babar wrote.

"May Allah SWT give sabr to the family and elevate her ranks in Jannah, Ameen," he added.
