LONDON: Tottenham Hotspurs defeated Arsenal by 3-0 in a one-sided clash to start the fight for a berth in next season's Champions League.
The Gunners were handed the worst conceivable blow at this stage of the season, a 3-0 hammering at the hands of their arch-rivals, who are also competing for the last Champions League position in the Premier League this season.
At a boisterous Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Harry Kane scored twice, scoring an instant penalty and then heading in a second. In the second half, Son Heung-min made it 3-0.
Arsenal's spot in the top four would have been secured with a win, but the battle is now wide open.
Chelsea, who are now in the third position, are only five points behind Tottenham, leaving Conte's team and the Gunners competing for fourth place.
Spurs play relegation-threatened Burnley on Sunday before visiting demoted Norwich on May 22.
Arsenal's remaining matchups appear to be more difficult on paper, as they go to Newcastle on Monday and finish the season at home against Everton, who may still require a win to ensure Premier League survival.
