LAHORE: Pakistan's Olympian badminton player Mahoor Shahzad believes that a long training camp under the supervision of a foreign coach will help them compete strongly in upcoming Commonwealth Games.

In an exclusive interview with Geo News from the sidelines of trials for the Commonwealth Games, Mahoor suggested to hire a foreign coach for players' preparations for the mega event which is scheduled from July 28 to August 8 in Birmingham.

"There is a need to hire a foreign coach and set up a long training camp for players to prepare them strongly for Commonwealth Games," she said.

"If not a foreign coach, then at least arrange a foreign tour before the extravaganza. This tour will help us judge our preparations while playing against some competent international players," she added.

It must be noted here that Mahoor is the only Pakistani badminton player to have represented Pakistan in Olympics.
