KARACHI: Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets has clinched the NBA's Most Valuable Player award for the second consecutive year.

The Serbian defeated Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid and Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo.

In the Eastern Conference semi-finals, the Bucks defeated the Boston Celtics 110-107 to take a 3-2 lead in their best-of-seven series.

Antetokounmpo led his team to win in Boston by scoring 40 points. With 10 minutes left, the Bucks were behind 93-79, but the reigning NBA Finals MVP produced a sequence of clutch plays to help them win the last quarter 33-21.

With 11 seconds left, the Greek missed a free shot to tie the game at 107, but teammate Bobby Portis retrieved the loose ball and scored to put the Bucks up a point, and two more successful free throws sealed the victory.
