"I will salute to PM Shahbaz if he restores departmental sports," says Rehan Butt
Former PM Imran Khan shut down departmental sports and introduced new sports structure based on regions
LAHORE: Former hockey Olympian Rehan Butt asked Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif-led government to come out of making just statements and restore departmental sports.
While talking to a local Tv channel, Rehan lamented that departmental sports has been affected by politics.
"Current government made just statements about restoring departmental sports. I will believe it once the official notification is issued," he said.
"I will be the first one to thank PM Shahbaz if he restores departmental sports. In fact, I will salute to him when first player will get a job in any department," he added.
It must be noted here that former PM Imran Khan shut down departmental sports and introduced new sports structure based on regions. Due to his decision, plenty of players lost their jobs in result of closure of departmental teams.
