PHF appoints four foreign coaches together for national team for the first time

Pakistan team is currently in Belgium as part of their Europe tour ahead of Asian Games

KARACHI: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), for the first time, has appointed four foreign coaches for national team on an international tour. 

On the suggestion of Dutch head coach Siegfried Aikman, former Dutch player Richard has been appointed as penalty corner specialists coach. 

Richard has joined the national team in Belgium during their training session ahead of first game against Netherlands, scheduled on April 26. 

"Pakistan has some really good drag flickers. I had a very interactive session with the players and they executed the tips so well," he said. 

Pakistan team is currently in Belgium as part of their Europe tour ahead of Asian Games. The team management includes Khawaja Junaid (manager) Siegfried (head coach), Waseem Ahmad (assistant coach), Nadeem Lodhi (video analyst), Bob Johan Veldhof (goal keepers coach), Daniel Berry (physical trainer). 

Pakistan and Holland will play two matches on April 26 and 27 respectively. On April 28, the national players will do training ahead of their only match against Belgium on April 29.

Thereafter, the team will travel to Spain on May to play three match against the home side on May 2, 3 and 4. The team will return to county on May 5.

Defenders: Mubbasher Ali; Amad Butt; Mohammad Abdullah; Arbaz Ali; Mohammad Rizwan and Hammad Anjum

Midfielders: Umar Bhutta (captain); Ali Shaan (vice-captain); Ghazzanfer; Moin Shakeel; Abdul Manan and Junaid Manzoor.

Forwards: Abubaker Mehmood; Roman Khan; Rana Waheed; Hanan Shahid; Salman Razak and Ajaz
