MUMBAI: Sunrisers Hyderabad's young right-arm fast bowler Umran Malik, who has been able to showcase very good pace bowling skills and former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has praised the youngster very highly as he believes — watching Umran bowl reminded him of the great — Waqar Younis.
Pathan, who represented India in 29 Test matches, 120 ODIs and 24 T20Is, spoke about the talent of Umran on Star Sports.
"The first time I saw him bowl was when I was playing for Jammu and Kashmir and I was the mentor. Watching him bowl reminded me of the great Waqar Younis," he said.
Umran, who was picked by the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise has been retained by them for this year's event and has been able to display some great bowling spells in which he has bowled good yorkers and has been able to touch the 150 kmph regularly.
