Pakistan Cup: Yasir, Bangalzai star as Balochistan outclass KP to lift 50-over domestic trophy

Yasir, took 4 key wickets to dismiss KP for 177, while Bangalzai looked good during his 80-run knock

MULTAN: Yasir Shah (4 wickets) was handy with ball while Abdul Bangalzai (80) shined with the bat as Balochistan outclassed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by eight wickets in the final sided final match of the Pakistan Cup of the ongoing domestic season at the Multan Cricket Stadium. 

Blaochistan, bowling first after their skipper and leggie Yasir won the toss, and they kept KP under pressure from the word go. Apart from Yasir's four wickets in a great spell, Khurram Shahzad and Akif Javed also took two scalps each as they bowled out KP for 171 in 46 overs with only Kamran Ghulam (70). 

In reply, Balochistan were given a 28-run opening stand before Imran Butt (17) was removed by Khalid Usman. But, after that, both Haseebullah Khan (45) and Bangalzai took the charge and forged a 77-run stand. Khalid also removed Khan, while Bangalzai and Asad Shafiq (21) noted a match-winning 70 run stand, as Balochistan chased down the target in 31.2 overs. 

Bangalzai, during his wonderful knock, looked in complete control and adopted an aggressive approach. He scored 80 runs off 77 balls with the help of nine fours and two sixes. 

While for KP, apart from Khalid's two scalps, no other bowler managed to take any wicket.

And KP, while batting first, lost their first wicket without any score as Shahzad dismissed Ashfaq Ahmed for zero. Though, Mohsin Khan and Kamran did held the inning with a 58-run stand, but they kept losing regular intervals and never picked the momentum for posing a huge total. Kamran did managed to show some fight as he played a good knock of 70 runs. 

While for Balochistan, all their bowlers contributed well.
