KARACHI: National Stadium's ground staff trimmed grass on the pitch after Pakistan and Australia left the ground on Thursday following their maiden practice session ahead of second Test.

Sources told this correspondent that the ground staff was asked to further trim the grass on 'pitch 2' of the ground which is set to host first-ever Pakistan vs Australia Test in 24 years.

One after another, the two captains, players and coaches came to have a look on the pitch. Ground staff had to remove the covers a couple of times to let them access the behavior of wicket.

The two teams had three and a half hour long training session on Thursday. The players took part in long batting, bowling and fielding sessions.

After Pindi Test drawn, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has remained under serious criticism for making batting-friendly wicket.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has also declared Pindi pitch, which was used for Pakistan vs Australia first Test, 'below average' followed by a demerit point.
