RAWALPINDI: Pakistan's veteran batter Azhar Ali, who played a brilliant 185-run knock against Australia in the ongoing first Test, has said that the Aussie bowlers deserve the credit as they bowled really well and didn't allow the Men-in-Green to score easily.
While addressing a post-day press conference after the early close of Day 2 due to bad-light, Azhar revealed that the Pindi Stadium pitch was difficult where scoring the runs freely wasn't easy.
"The Australian bowlers bowled really well, due to which we couldn't carve out the runs freely," he said.
Azhar also showed his happiness upon Imam-ul-Haq's first Test century as he scored a brilliant 157-run knock.
"I am glad to see Imam performing so well in Test matches as his performance in ODIs was already excellent," stated Azhar.
After Pakistan declared for 476-4 in 162 overs, as only one over was possible in Australia's inning and a lot will depend on the Green Shirts bowlers to take early wickets on Day three.
Azhar also believes that the pitch will become more difficult at the end of the third day.
"We have to do good planning against the Australian team, as it will not be easy to get their batters out," he opined.
About his career, he said that he has no intentions to retire and will counite to play as long as his fitness and form allows him.
