Multan Sultans skipper Mohammad Rizwan has said that Shaheen Afridi's victory is his victory after the Shaheen Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars beat Multan Sultans to clinch their maiden Pakistan Super League (PSL) trophy.

Lahore Qalandars Sunday thrashed Rizwan's Multan Sultan by 42 runs in the grand final of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

The Qalandars won their maiden PSL title since the tournament's emergence in 2016.

Rizwan took to Twitter to congratulate Shaheen Shah Afridi and Lahore Qalandars for their maiden PSL trophy.

"Really happy for Lahore Qalandars. Shaheen Afridi ki jeet, meri jeet hai [Shaheen's win is my win]," Rizwan tweeted.

The wicket-keeper batter also encouraged his team with famous verse poetry.

"Girte hain Sheh'sawaar hi maidaane Jang me [It’s gallant knights riding in battles that fall]," Rizwan tweeted.

"Multan Sultans played like champions & champs get up after being knocked out. Yaqeen rakhna hai. Thanks to all the fans, staff, players, coaches & owner," he tweeted.
