PSL 7: Shahid Afridi praises Shaheen for ‘great display of captaincy’
Shahid Afridi also congratulated Lahore Qalandars for the win against Islamabad United
Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has heaped praise on Lahore Qalandars skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi for a "great display of captain" throughout the ongoing seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after the Qalandars advanced to the final of the mega tournament.
Lahore Qalandars on Friday defeated a strong Islamabad United side after David Wiese's last-over heroics, where the Namibian defended eight runs against Mohammad Wasim Jr at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
The thrilling clash between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United in the second eliminator was labeled as "one of the best matches in the history of the PSL".
Taking to Twitter, Shahid Afridi hailed Shaheen Afridi for his leadership skills and posted photos of him watching the match along with his friends.
"Today I witnessed one of the best matches in the PSL history. Congratulations Lahore Qalandars on a well deserved win," Shahid Afridi tweeted.
"Great display of captaincy by Shaheen throughout the tournament," he added.
The former all-rounder also wished luck to the finalist teams — Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars — who will be locking horns in the mega final of the PSL on Sunday at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
