Waqar Younis said that Salman brought 'old memories' back with his in-swinging yorkers against Islamabad United in the first eliminator
Former legendary Pakistan pacer Waqar Younis has heaped praise on Peshawar Zalmi's fast bowler Salman Irshad after he bowled a "Super Spell" against Islamabad United in the first eliminator of the ongoing seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
Waqar credited Lahore Qalandars for finding the talented Salman through their Player Development Program (PDP).
Taking to Twitter, Waqar hailed Salman for his "speed and accuracy" during the match against Islamabad United at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on Thursday.
"Another Lahore Qalandars product. Salman Irshad, Super Spell. Good speed and accuracy," Waqar tweeted.
"Purani yaadain taza kar deen [brought old memories back] with those beautiful in-swinging Yorkers. Excellent game of Cricket," he added.
"Big congratulations to Islamabad United," he further added.
However, even after a fine display of bowling by Salman against Islamabad United, the two-time champions managed to beat Zalmi and confirm their exit from the PSL.
Salman Irshad was exceptional for Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL and took 15 wickets for the Yellow Storm.
