LAHORE: Islamabad United will be captained by the aggressive batter Asif Ali in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 after their incumbent skipper Shadab Khan was ruled out due to an injury.

United had announced that skipper Shadab and young pacer Zeeshan Zameer will miss tomorrow's clash with Peshawar Zalmi at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

United on their official Twitter handle also informed about the development.

"Asif Ali will be officially captaining Islamabad United for the 1st time in the PSL in the absence of Shadab Khan against Peshawar Zalmi," the tweet read.

Asif Ali is considered to be Islamabad United's one of the most stand-out players as he is playing for the two-time PSL winners ever since the first edition in 2016.

Asif has played an internal part in their success both as a hard-hitting batter and as well as a quality fielder.
