South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada has been picked by Punjab Kings for 9.25 crore INR in the mega auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
"A sweet addition to our family, Rabdi Rabada," Punjab Kings tweeted.
Kagiso Rabada will be busy with a home series against Bangladesh that ends on April 11. The IPL is likely to start on March 27 and end in late May.
Therefore, the right-arm pacer will miss the majority of the first leg of the IPL.
Mazher Arshad, a Cricket Statistician, took to Twitter to reveal that Kagiso Rabida will get Rs 525,000 for every delivery he bowls in the IPL. That too, if he plays the whole tournament but the bowler will only play the matches after 11 April.
Two more South African bowling stars — Anrich Nortje and Marco Jansen — will miss the first phase of the IPL as they will be on national duty representing the Proteas against Bangladesh in the home series.
