Former Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait is excited to be associated with the Pakistan cricket team as a fast bowling coach for one year ahead of the much-awaited Aussies tour of Pakistan.

Tait said: "I am delighted to be joining the Pakistan cricket team as the fast bowling coach, and undoubtedly, this is a huge responsibility for me. Pakistan is a huge cricketing nation in the world that has a history of producing some great fast bowlers."

Tait added: "Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah Hassan Ali, Muhammad Abbas are good bowlers and these are just a few names. I am very excited to work with these players. I can't wait any longer for this opportunity."

According to a PCB statement, Saqlain Mushtaq will continue as Pakistan's head coach for another 12 months, while Mohammad Yousuf will be the batting coach for the Australia series, and Tait will be working as the fast bowling coach.

Tait, who was considered as one of the quick pacers in the world, represented Australia in three tests, 35 ODIs and 21 T20s, and made his last international appearance against India in the shortest format at Sydney last year.
