Former legendary fast bowler of the Pakistan cricket team Waqar Younis has said that the "calmness" of veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik was the key in Peshawar Zalmi's spectacular win against Quetta Gladiators in the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Waqar heaped praise on Shoaib, who led Zalmi's extraordinary run-chase along with young batter Hussain Talat, where the two batters partnered to chase down a mighty 191-run target.
Taking to Twitter, the former Pakistan coach praised Shoaib Malik.
"Calmness of @realshoaibmalik was the key last night for the @PeshawarZalmi," Waqar tweeted.
"Very calculative and aggressive when required. Super knock Shabi (Shoaib Malik)," he added.
Shoaib Malik scored a 32-ball 48 to help Zalmi chase Quetta Gladiators' big target.
Shoaib was captaining Peshawar Zalmi due to the absence of Wahab Riaz, who had tested positive for COVID-19 and was isolating.
Peshawar Zalmi will next take on Islamabad United in their second match of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League at the National Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
