Karachi Kings former captain Imad Wasim and Jordan Thompson have tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the opening match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Jang News reported Thursday.

Imad Wasim and Jordan Thompson will not be available for the Kings-Sultans opening clash.

This is a big blow to the Kings as left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir is also doubtful for today's match due to a hamstring injury.

Skipper Babar Azam will be without their main players against a balanced Multan Sultans.

Earlier, Quetta Gladiators Shahid Afridi had tested positive for COVID-19.

The seventh edition of PSL will commence today at the National Cricket Stadium Karachi when Karachi Kings take on Multan Sultans.

Top local players will be seen in action with stars from all over the country in the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) marquee event.
