The year 2021 has been a great year for Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi. He performed well in all three formats, which is why he has been nominated for the ICC Annual Awards, while he has also received the PCB Impact Full Performance of the Year Award.

Shaheen has declared the PCB award as an honor for him.

"Winning the PCB award is a moment of pride. It was very important to do well in the match for which the award was given. The match against India in T20 World Cup was very important. We never won against India (in a World Cup), and we had to win. I had my form, and I knew I would bowl well. And then it happened that we won the match against India and also won the award, and for which I am happy," Shaheen said.

The 21-year-old dismissed top-class batters during the match against India, including Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul in his first spell.

"I have fond memories of the T20 World Cup 2021 match against India. We had planned to take wickets from the top because taking wickets from the top would break the backbone of Indian batting. Due to which pressure builds on the Indian cricket team, and this is what happened, so I will still call this match memorable for me," he concluded.
