Real Madrid on Saturday reclaimed their eight points lead in La Liga after they beat Valencia 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid lost their last La Liga match against Getafe but regained their top-form and were exceptional against Valencia.

The Los Blancos' striker Karim Benzema and left-winger Vinicius Jr shined to inspire Real to a comprehensive victory.

Benzema opened the scoring for Real by converting a penalty in the 43rd minute of the game. The Frenchman's goal was followed by Vinicius' two goals in the 52 and 61 minutes, respectively.

Valencia could only score a consolation through a Goncalo Guedes goal.

After Guedes' goal, Real managed to restore their three-goal lead through a Benzema goal in the 88th minute of the game, scoring his second goal to wrap up the game for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid will next take on Elche on 23 January at the Santiago Bernabue.
