Pakistan's former fast bowler Mohammad Amir has said that unfortunately, no one appreciated the country's rising boxing star Usman Wazeer on winning the World Boxing Council (WBC) Middle East title in Dubai on December 15.

Amir on his official Twitter handle wrote: "Asian Champion Boxer Usman Wazeer won World Boxing council's Middle East Title but unfortunately no one appreciated him"

"Even his home town Gilgit-Baltistan's Government also ignored him," he wrote.

"Don't worry Usman Wazeer we will support you, keep shining," Amir backed the 21-year-old boxer.

While Usman was also quick to reply to Amir's post in which he thanked the left-arm pacer for his kind words.

"Thanks, Amir Bahi, you always supported young champs, Inshallah I will make our country WORLD-CHAMPION too in coming months, once again thank you for your support," Usman tweeted.

It should be remembered that both Usman defeated his opponent Rosta from Tanzania in the 66kg category to clinch the title.
