Pakistan batter Asif Ali on Thursday said he is eagerly waiting for the Australia series, scheduled in March and April next year.
The 30-year-old believes that cricket fans in Pakistan will enjoy it as the matches will be played at different venues across Pakistan.
"We will also try to play well against the Australian team, which is considered to be one of the strongest teams, and meet the expectations of the fans," Asif said.
Asif Ali, known for his hard-hitting batting, says that he is very excited for the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He is happy that the PSL will be in Pakistan, and fans will be able to come to the stadium and watch the matches.
"I have always tried to give 100% for my team, and I will try to do well this time too," Asif said.
"The postponement of ODI series against West Indies was very sad, but I pray for those who have tested positive for COVID-19," he dded.
Before the T20 World Cup 2021, Asif Ali faced severe backlash over his selection, but in the World Cup, he responded to this criticism with his exceptional batting and match-winning cameos — against Afghanistan and New Zealand.
"After T20 World Cup, people have started to expect more from me. I try to work harder and live up to their expectations."
Asif Ai added that fans have the right to criticize, and if we don't perform well, people will talk.
"I performed well in the T20 World Cup, due to which people supported me."
Asif Ali is a big fan of Pakistan captain Babar Azam and wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan.
"They [Babar and Rizwan] have set a standard in batting. I pray to Allah Almighty to give such success to both the players, and they keep on setting records for Pakistan," Asif Ali concluded.
