Two finalist teams of Quaid e Azam Trophy 2021-22, Northern and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who are set to clash on December 25 in Karachi, faced an alarming situation when the administration of a local five-star hotel asked the cricketers to vacate their rooms at night.

According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board had booked a hotel located on Club Road till December 22, while further booking for the two finalist teams were not done in advance.

Sources also said that the PCB had informed the hotel management that due to the arrival of a large group, the post-December 22 booking confirmation would take place only after the previous booking is cancelled.

After that, there wasn't any contact between the hotel management and PCB, and on the night of December 22, the players were suddenly asked to vacate the hotel.

Sources said that since the hotel management did not contact the board, the PCB's relevant department thought the bookings of the two teams are confirmed.

Due to the lack of communication between the two authorities, players had to change hotels at the last minute, shifting to a three-star hotel situated on Shahra-e-Faisal.

PCB officials said that in the case of not getting the required number of rooms in other hotels, the players have been shifted to the best possible place.

It should be noted that Pakistan's top stars are also taking part in the upcoming final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
