PCB announces five positions for coaches

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally issued an advertisement inviting applications for five coaching positions for the Pakistan cricket team.

The job openings for the national cricket team’s coaching staff include five positions: high-performance coach, batting coach, bowling coach, fielding coach, and power-hitting coach.

The role of a power-hitting coach is introduced for the first time by the PCB.

In its advertisement, PCB states that it "seeks dynamic individuals" to provide "integrated coaching support across all formats of the game of cricket."

The applicants must boast a minimum experience of five years as life coaches for elite sportspersons and/or national or international teams.

The High Performance Coach will be required to provide integrated and holistic coaching support to the players across all formats and levels, including life and mental preparedness. He will also be responsible for identifying talent and defining objectives for individual players that would facilitate excellence and augmentation in the players’ games, personalities, and leadership, following the PCB’s vision, philosophy, and approach.

The batting, bowling, fielding, and power-hitting coaches, among other qualifications, will lead the PCB’s development programmes. They will also be responsible for identifying objectives for individual players within their areas of responsibilities that would facilitate excellence and augmentation in skills enhancements, "PCB's statement said.


The last date for submission of applications for five of the National High Performance Centre coaches is January 17, 2022.

The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a panel of experts before the candidates are finalised.
