The Pakistan Super League's (PSL) franchise Karachi Kings have named Peter Moores as their head coach for the upcoming PSL 2022 edition.

Having led many international and club teams throughout his career, Moores — as a coach — brings a lot of experience.

He even held the crucial job of the England team's head coach on two different occasions, first from 2007-2009, and second from 2014-2015. The current Nottinghamshire CCC head coach will replace former South African batsman Herschelle Gibbs who mentored Karachi Kings during the 2021 season.

Speaking of his appointment, Moores said he can't wait to join Karachi Kings.

"It's so exciting to be able to come and join the Karachi family. I can't wait to get stuck in, it's known to be one of the best tournaments worldwide because of the strength of the local talent," Moores was quoted as saying by The Cricketer.

Moores added: "It's something I can't wait to get involved with. The fact it’s being played in Pakistan makes it even better – the traditions, the passion – and we’re going to try to play some really exciting, aggressive cricket."
