Twitter fans criticised New Zealand's experienced batter Ross Taylor for his reckless and careless knock in which he threw his wicket away by playing an awful short in a eight-ball stint at the crease in which he scored six runs.
In the on-going second Test at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India handed New Zealand a mammoth target of 540 after they declared for 276-7 in second innings and the responsibility was on Taylor's shoulders to battle it out for his team against a threatening Indian spin attack.
Ross Taylor walked out to bat at no.4 in the 15th over after Will Young's dismissal which left Kiwis 45-2.
At the time when his team needed him to play a sensible knock to steer New Zealand out, he tried to slog sweep a tossed up delivery from Ravi Ashwin which taken by Cheteshwar Pujara with a great catch on the tumble.
The former Indian batting great and commentator called it: "Absolutely zero application, very disappointing."
Consequently fans started posting hilarious memes and posts on the micro-blogging website.
