Former Australian legend and World Cup 2015 winning captain Michael Clarke just completed his Men's Health body transformation challenge in a span of 12 weeks after an intense training and exercise with the Sydney trainer Jono Castano.

The 40-year-old Clarke who retired in 2015 proudly showed off his muscular physique for January cover of Australian Men's Health magazine, where before and after shots will also be included for the readers.

Clarke told Australian Men's Health: "While turning 40 (wasn’t) a massive psychological hurdle, retiring from cricket was."

He added: "When you stop doing something that got you out of bed every single day, when you lose that structure and routine, you lose a lot and I've seen people go downhill in those circumstances, physically and mentally. I wasn't sure it was possible."

"I mean, could I really be fitter and stronger, could I really feel better and look better, than when I was a professional athlete? That was a time when I had the best people around me the best nutritionists, the best strength-and- conditioning coaches," added Clarke.

Meanwhile, in a 12-year international career for Australia, Clarke played 115 Tests and 245 ODIs before retiring in 2015.
