Pakistan's star professional boxer Muhammad Waseem outclassed Colombia's Rober Barrera to clinch the WBC Silver Title Belt in WBA world title eliminator flyweight match on Friday in Dubai.
In a thrilling boxing encounter between the two, Waseem won with the scores of 115-113, 115-114 and 117-111.
Speaking after achieving a monumental triumph, the 34-years-old boxer praised his trainers for all the hard work they put in to prepare him for the important fight.
He said: "I would like to thank my trainers who prepared me strongly for this fight. I am happy to accomplish yet another milestone for Pakistan."
Waseem also hailed his fans for their support, he added: "Fans support boosted my confidence and I thank them for their support."
Though, the Colombian Rober Barrera was boxing well, but he was always in immense pressure from an incoming Waseem, who was throwing and landing a lot of shots at him.
In a 12-round fight between the two boxers, Muhammad Waseem prevailed, after which the judges unanimously declared Muhammad Waseem the winner.
