SA vs NED: Lungi Ngidi tests positive for Covid-19, will miss Netherlands ODI series

South Africa will play three ODIs against Netherlands starting Friday

South African fast bowler, Lungi Ndidi has been ruled out of the ODI series against the Netherlands after testing positive for Covid-19.

"Lungi Ngidi has also been forced to withdraw from the tour after testing positive for COVID-19. He is well and in good spirits and abiding by Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) COVID-19 protocols, in line with government regulations. The Proteas medical team will keep in contact with him to ensure his physical and mental well-being," Cricket South Africa (CSA) said in a statement.

Lungi Ndidi will be replaced by 31-year old right-arm pacer Junior Dala.

Another member of the Proteas bowling line-up, Lizaad Williams, has also been ruled out of the tour due to an injury.

But his replacement has not yet been named by the CSA.

"Lizaad Williams has been ruled out of the tour due to an intercostal muscle strain, he is undergoing treatment and will continue to be assessed. No replacement has been named," said CSA.
