After sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United have recently held talks with ex-Barcelona manager, Ernesto Valverde, who is one of the potential candidates to take over the interim manager role at the Machester club.
Ernesto Valverde has not been working since being sacked by Barcelona in January 2020.
During the two-and-a-half-year spell at the Catalonian club, Valverde won two Spanish titles and the Copa Del Rey.
United are planning to appoint a permanent manager at the end of the season and their first choice is Paris-Saint Germain's boss, Mauricio Pochettino.
However, Pochettino, on Monday, said that he is "so happy' at PSG and the interest from United won't distract him from his current role.

United, who are seventh in the Premier League were thrashed by a 17th placed Watford, which fueled the sacking of Ole.
Manchester United have appointed former United midfielder Michael Carrick as an interim manager, but they are also on the run to appoint one of the prominent managers in the World for the interim role.
United might also appoint permanent manager mid-season but they want to appoint a high-caliber individual for the role.
