Ex-Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir claims receiving 'death threats' from 'Daesh'

India's former batsman Gautam Gambhir, who is also the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) MP from Delhi, claims he has received death threats from 'Daesh Kashmir', according to news agency ANI.

The 40-year-old cricketer turned politician who represents East Delhi, said he received the email on Tuesday night.

Due to it, the security outside his home in India's capital has been beefed up and a probe has also been ordered after the complaint was filed last night.

A police officer told ANI that Gambhir has approached the Delhi Police in this regard.

Chauhan said: "Gautam Gambhir has received death threats from 'Daesh Kashmir' through an email, but security has been beefed up outside his residence."

In a letter to the police, Gambhir disclosed details of the email, which he claims was sent by Daesh Kashmir. It also reads that the terrorist-based group is going to kill him as well as his family.
