The 36-year-old Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo and his family are currently given protection by two twins named Sergio and Jorge Ramalheiro who served as soldiers in the elite Special Forces unit in Afghanistan.

After it, they joined the Portuguese police close protection unit tasked with watching the likes of politicians and judges.

Both the twins hail from a place called Ansiao near the city of Pombal, which is just a two-hour drive north of Lisbon.

They joined the army straight from school and ended up in a Special Forces unit called Commandos.

On several occasions, they have been seen as Ronaldo's security personnel.

Shortly after being hired, both were seen with Ronaldo as he prepares to leave for Switzerland in September with the rest of the squad for a Champions League encounter.

The twins were spotted with Ronaldo after he returned to Manchester Airport following his side's humiliating 4-1 loss to Watford.

One of the twins was spotted earlier this month at the Madrid birthday bash which Ronaldo's pregnant partner Georgina Rodriguez organized for their daughter Alana Martina.

Portuguese celeb magazine Flash said the twins have been hired by Cristiano Ronaldo after they asked to go on unpaid leave from the PSP police to pursue other interests.

An insider told local media: "Sergio and Jorge dress elegantly and look very normal as well as they are also capable of mixing with the crowd, but are quick to think, see and act at the right moment."
