Launched on Friday, the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pearl's physical versions performed tremendously, making it the United Kingdom's (UK) second best launched boxed Nintendo Switch game this year.

Only combined multi platform numbers of FIFA 22 have been able to perform better than it.

Combining both Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl the launched sales for both versions makes it the second largest launch for all the platforms this year.

According to the gamezindustry.biz, the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl launch sales are down by 26% against Sword and Shield which were released in November 2019, while the sales are up by 13% against Let's Go Eevee and Pikachu games, which were released back in November 2018.

Amazingly, Diamond and Pearl occupy three slots in this week's UK boxed games chart one for each version third for a combo pack containing both.

However, these stats are only the cover physical copies as Pokemon games remain very popular as boxed releases.

But still, it's an achievement for a pair of remakes and ones which haven't landed to universal praise, either.

The Battlefield 2042's boxed sales saw it claims third spot this week being behind the both Diamond and Pearl.
