India's all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to move alongside Rahul Dravid's vision instead of telling the former skipper how to run the team.

Rahul Dravid was appointed as the new head coach of the Indian men's cricket team on Wednesday.

"If you have brought Rahul Dravid, the biggest name, then at least go with his vision. This is my request to the board... If a man like Rahul Dravid has joined then please, please move alongside his vision, understanding, and dedication, don't tell him how to run the team," he told Cricbuzz.

Jadeja believes dedication and discipline are the two prime things a coach should possess and Rahul Dravid is a role model of when it comes to dedication and discipline.

"If there's a role model of discipline and dedication, it's Rahul Dravid. You want a lot of things from a coach but discipline and dedication are probably the two prime things. It will be interesting to see who will make the next T20 captain - Rahul Dravid or [the selectors]. There's no doubt in his praise but when someone becomes an Indian coach, if you don't let him work or don't use his vision then it's all redundant, anyone can be a coach in that way," he said.

Rahul Dravid was the coach of India A and Under-19 cricket team and has consistently found players for the Indian national squad from the lower levels such as Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, and many more.

Rahul Dravid will take charge of the Indian team after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup, when Ravi Shastri leaves office.
