After a slow start to the season, the Catalonian football club Barcelona thrashed a good Valencia side with a 3-1 victory on Monday, October 18.

Ansu Fati's comeback from injury is really making a difference for Barcelona. The youngster outshone the opponents and every other player on the pitch.

But one of the players who performed outrageously was the Brazilian Philippe Coutinho. Coutinho signed for Barcelona for a hefty 160 million euros that made him the world's second most expensive player in 2018. And, yet the Brazilian could not perform up to the expectations of the fans.

He played a remarkable game and scored the third goal for Barcelona. He freed himself and gave Ronald Koeman arguments to continue supporting the midfielder.

"He was good. Fast. From the first day, I have always believed in Coutinho. Little by little he will recover his quality because, physically, he is better every day," said the Dutch coach at the post-match press conference.

The former Liverpool played did not play a single game last season due to injury. He had to live with the weight and responsibility of being the most expensive player in Barcelona's long history and this weight kept getting heavy because he could not perform as expected from him.

Koeman has faith in the Brazilian and he believes that he can perform more and better than he has done so far. And against Valencia, the Brazilian responded with a goal and a great display of football.
