Oman's openers, originally hailing from India and Pakistan, signified victory of peace and friendship today.

The names of two players playing for Oman are Sialkot-born Aaqib Ilyas and Ludhiana-born Jatinder Singh.

By hugging each other after the victory both cricketers sent the message and showed the world that the sport can act as a bridge of peace between the people of different countries.

The neighboring countries have shared strained-ties over the years, but even after all this there have been some examples of love and unison amongst the people of both these nations.

Everyone is familiar with the partnership shared between Pakistani tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq and India's Rohan Bobbana have shared across the years by playing professional men’s doubles tennis together.

However, today another moment of such friendship was witnessed at the inaugural match of ICC T20 World Cup between Oman and Papua New Guinea.

That moment came when both openers posted an unbeaten 131 run partnership and took their team to 10-wicket triumph
