Australia begins one-year countdown to ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022

It will be for the first time that Australia will host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup ever since its first edition in 2007.

As the cricketing world awaits the official kick-off of this year’s ICC T20 World Cup 2021 Australia has already begun its one-year countdown to the T20 World Cup 2022 .

Although, they were given the right to host the 2020 T20 World Cup, the dangerous outbreak of the corona virus across the globe wreaked havoc on all the segments of life and especially sporting events. 

As a result of it, the event got postponed.

But now, the postponed event will take place on the Australian shores in October-November 2022.

The next year’s event will comprise sixteen teams with forty-five matches.

Having already hosted the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2020, it will be for the first time that Australia will host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup ever since its first edition in 2007 in South Africa.
