The Asia Cup 2023 will be played in Pakistan, confirmed Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja.

The decision was taken unanimously by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting held in Dubai on October 15.

“The ACC meeting, chaired by Jay Shah, the secretary of BCCI, has recognised that it is the turn of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to host the event and the Pakistan board, as it has been maintaining in the recent times, has declared that it will not host the event at a neutral venue, but in Pakistan only,” the Cricbuzz report said.

Pakistan hasn't hosted an international event since the 2008 Asia Cup as teams from around the world stopped touring the nation after the 2009 attacks on the Sri Lankan team.

The news comes as a huge relief to the board and the fans after the disappointment of the cancellation of two tours, by New Zealand and England, recently.

Though, Pakistan was to host the 15th edition, BCCI had expressed their concerns over sending their team to Pakistan and had requested to host the event in UAE
