Famed Kenyan distance runner Agnes Tirop stabbed to death
'The world has lost a great talent after Tirop’s death' her teammate Yego said.
The 25 year-old Kenyan distance runner Agnes Tirop was found stabbed to death at her residence on Wednesday.
After investigation, the police claimed her husband to be the culprit behind this incident.
Her teammate Julius Yego paid tribute to the super-star athlete and spoke to the BBC saying that, “Agnes was a talented athlete who was striving to become one of the best”.
Her teammate also stated that, “Agnes wanted to be the best as she broke a world record of 10 kilometers some weeks back. She was taking giant steps in her career, but unfortunately someone ended her journey by killing her. The world has lost a great talent after Tirop’s death”, Yego said.
In her remarkable journey Agnes Tirop won the bronze medal in the world athletics championship and also winning the world cross country championship in 2015.
