Australia's former pacer Brett Lee is of the opinion that the Aussie squad has "their best chance" to win the T20 World Cup 2021.
As of recently, the Australian cricket team has had trouble in the recent T20I’s but this did not deter Lee from believing that the current squad is capable of winning the tournament, which is staged in the UAE and Oman.
Lee says, "I reckon this is probably one of the best squads that we’ve had".
The squad, which consists of star players including captain Aaron Finch, David Warner, Steve Smith, Josh Hazlewood, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Marsh, according to Lee are in good shape and can promise quality cricket.
However, the former cricketer shared that fan favourites, team India, also have a chance along with England but added that he will support his countrymen.
"India would definitely be one of the top picks and could definitely win this thing. I’m very patriotic, I want Australia to win and I think they can, but India definitely will be in the final and I think Australia has their best chance," Lee added.
"England, they’re always a big threat because of the squad they’ve got and the experience they have. But, for me, India is my favorite," Lee said.
It is pertinent to mention that the Australian cricket team has won the 50-over World Cup multiple times but have been quite unsuccessful in the T20 format.
Their best performance in the shortest format has been in the 2010 T20 world cup where they were the runners up.
